Getting started
What is a VPS (virtual private server)?
A VPS is a virtual server of your own that runs on a physical machine. You get your own operating system and root access, and you can install any software you like. Seturack servers are KVM virtual servers running in Istanbul.
What happens after I order?
Once your payment is complete, your server is set up automatically and appears in your customer panel. If you picked a ready-made app, it installs itself when the server first boots. Most apps are ready within minutes; large panels take longer. The app's address and password appear in the panel.
Do I get root access, and do I need to know the command line?
Root access is always yours. With the ready-made apps the address and password are in the panel, and you open the app in a browser or with its own client. You connect over SSH for command-line tools such as Docker, and when you want to customize the server.
Can I switch to another app or operating system later?
Yes. On the Reinstall screen in your panel, pick an operating system or app and the server comes back with it within minutes. A reinstall wipes the disk, so take a backup first. Your IP address stays the same.
How fast is the disk?
Each server gets a sustained 500 MB/s and 20,000 IOPS for reads, and 200 MB/s and 8,000 IOPS for writes. In short bursts it can reach twice these values. The limit keeps servers on the same machine from slowing each other down.
Can I run my own mail server?
Yes. On new servers, outgoing port 25 starts closed, and you open it in one click from your server's Firewall Rules screen. Sending through an email service on ports 587 and 465 needs nothing opened.
Can I run a game server?
We don't offer ready-made game installs. Root access is yours, so you can install one at your own responsibility if you want to.
Which ready-made apps are available?
We set up WordPress, Ghost, Nextcloud, WireGuard, TeamSpeak, Docker and dozens of other apps for you. You can search the full list on the home page. You can also start from a clean operating system.
Can I install Windows? Can I mount my own ISO?
Yes. Choose Windows Server 2025, 2022 or 2019 and it installs itself in 7-25 minutes. It starts on the 180-day Evaluation edition; a license isn't included in the price, and you enter your own key. If you'd rather run the setup yourself, you can use the Windows ISO option or mount your own ISO, and install from the console in your browser.
Size and price
Can I make my server bigger later?
Yes. You scale up with the slider on the Size tab in the panel, and after payment your server restarts once and comes back at the new size. Your IP address and data stay the same, and you only pay the difference for the remaining days.
Do I lose data if I scale my server down?
No. Scaling down takes effect at the end of the term you have paid for, and you can cancel it until then. Memory and CPU go down, but the disk isn't shrunk, so your disk and its data stay as they are.
How is the price worked out?
You set RAM, CPU and disk with the sliders and pay for what you choose. Ready-made sizes are only starting suggestions. When you scale up later you pay only the difference for the remaining days, and scaling down takes effect when your paid term ends.
Is there a traffic limit?
No. Unlimited traffic is included in the price, so you don't pay anything extra for traffic. Servers connect through a 1 Gbit port on a shared line.
Can I add an extra IP address?
Yes. An extra IP costs about $1 a month, VAT included. On Linux servers the extra IP is added inside the server automatically.
Backups and location
Are backups included?
Yes. Your server is backed up automatically every night and the last 7 days are kept, which is included in the price. From the panel you can recover a single file from a backup or restore the whole server.
Where are your servers?
Our servers are in Istanbul, which is our only location. Customers from abroad can order too.
Payment and invoices
How do I pay?
You can pay by credit card, debit card or account balance, monthly or yearly. Yearly payment comes with a 20 percent discount. Prices are shown with VAT included.
Can I get invoices?
Yes. Your invoices are listed on the Billing page of the customer panel and can be downloaded as PDFs. The difference invoices issued when you scale up appear on the same page.
Can I order from outside Turkey?
Yes. The site is available in 14 languages, including English. The currency follows the language: on the Turkish site prices and payment are in Turkish lira, and in every other language they are in US dollars, calculated from the lira price at the exchange rate. Customers with a billing address in Turkey always pay in lira. Our servers are in Istanbul only.
